Today was the last day of Paris couture spring 2015 shows, the shows I really like today was Zuhair Murad were the collection included colors of pastel pink, powder blue, silver and bronze. The dresses were translucent sheath dripping with crystals, sequins, cabochons, and bead fringe details. Gowns that have barely there sleeveless bodice, showgirl bodysuits, with some neckline the goes as far down as to mid stomach. While Ralph & Russo went for a 50’s glamour look for their collection of white and black with some blues in there. As like a lot of shows on the runway they had plenty of floral looks with glossy 3-D embroideries, lots of retro shapes of cocktail dresses, off-the-shoulder lace columns, with some capes to go with some of the pieces. A great way to close this year spring couture show!
Yesterday Alexandre Vauthier shows his rock n’ roll inspired collection filled with deep emerald green and black colors. The edgy collection consist of sparkling siren dresses, crystal full-body embroideries, and a dress provocatively patch worked together from scraps of tulle and mousseline. With finishing touches like tulle cape and thick neck cuffs the colletion gave off a very sexy fetish vibe. Today; Elie Saab collection consist of decorative details of oversized blooms and abstract tree-bark effects on sheer fabrics in powdery shades of ivory, pink, beige and green. For effects he decided on ostrich feathers for an allover beautiful trim on nude dresses with floral sequined embroideries. And to top off the display of delicate look was a series of all black looks from ankle length dresses to short sleeved. Jean Paul Gaultier went with a bridal those showing pieces that were white gown cutaways that were over briefs, showing in black, white, and combinations with pants, as dresses and half-and-half, a dress, black and sleek on one side and white and full-skirted on the other. There were pieces that was graceful exquisitely embellished cardigans; languid hooded robes, some au courant tailoring and some witty pieces of threesome of overalls, baseball jacket and jean shorts. Valentino showed blue, velvet, and neutrals on the catwalk, and came in embroidered linens and muslins worn in very elegant layers of apron dresses over blouses, long wool capes over jeweled muslin linen. A series of ethereal embroidered gowns, embroidered with abstract motifs and heavenly clouds and poetic script, and the simplest out of all of them was a linen corset on top of a tulle skirt.
Today the couture continues to roll out starting with the Chanel show with its garden themed vibe bright orange, yellow, pink, Yves Klein blue colors, jackets cut lean through the bust; long, slim, slightly low-slung skirts, and fabric detailing’s of intricate laces, embroidered tweeds, plastered linens. Armani Prive went with the Japanese influence in roomier blousons with kimono sleeves, some holding origami folds, tank tops with sparkly embroideries glistened like dew on grass. Overlapping bamboo prints rendered in lace carved into a racer-top mermaid shape, or embroidered tone-on-tone on a black gazar gown with a skimpy V-shaped bodice connected by straps. Stepane Rolland with his collection gave off a 70’s vibe with cut out sheer pieces of black, white, mocha, and nude gowns accompanied with curved appliqué motifs in gold latex. Fishtail gowns laden with heavy appliqué ruffles, a crisp white jumpsuit, and three dresses with huge crinolines so sheer, you could see the models’ underwear.
Paris couture fashion week start this Sunday kicking off with the 2015 Atelier Versace show for their spring collections. With shows like Christian Dior, Chanel, Stephane Rolland, Jean Paul Gaultier and Zuhair Murad I am sure that this week in Paris will be a spectacular one giving all of the beautiful crafted pieces that are going to or already have it the run way.
